About Coach Angela
Life is full of ways to acquire knowledge; some through schooling or formal training, and some through experiences - my life has been no different. I'd like to share with you some of what makes me, well me! My belief is that my experiences help to make me a more well-rounded person and give me more to offer you as a Life Coach.
Schooling, Work, Life Experiences:
Life Coaching - I received my training through the Coaching Training Institute ( CTI ). The emphasis there is on co-active coaching; a very important distinction to me as it is about partnering with the client in creating the life they truly desire, it is not about 'fixing it' for the client.
Personal Training - With a love for lifting weights (and bodybuilding), in March of 2007 I certified as a Personal Trainer through NASM (National Association of Sports Medicine) in order to train people in a gym environment. Though I now only train people privately, I continue to stay educated in the field .
I have an Associates of Arts and Sciences Degree. - I was blessed to have a great mentor in College (she was a great Life Coach in her own right though she didn't call herself that) who encouraged me to explore all aspects of the Drama department. I took every class available, and became smitten with directing, improvisation, and actor coaching. I have used my love for Drama in so many ways in my life, and find that it is particularly helpful to me as a Life Coach, giving me a greater depth of understanding of the human spirit and how it is played out in people's lives - we all have a story, and we all want it to be great.
Entrepreneur - I have had my own businesses from the beginning, and continue to do so. While I have worked for other people, I have always enjoyed being self-employed.
Drama - this is my first love. I have directed plays and Reader's Theater. I am currently working in local film.
Writing - I am currently working on a short film.
Music - I have sung in professional Gospel choirs, and have directed 2 Children's Choirs. Music is important to me; it has such cathartic qualities.
Jewelry making - I make and sell jewelry, and have done so most of my life.
Sales - I worked 15 years selling other people's art, and craft work at the Pike Place Market in Seattle. Meeting people from all parts of the world was an amazing experience, and what a fabulous place to be! I continue to stay in touch with the community.
Organic Gardening - I design, install and maintain organic gardens and did so as a business for many years. I've loved plants since I was a child and began to cultivate them at a young age. I do a great deal of studying, and have worked in plant nurseries to round out my knowledge base. Organic gardening is very important to me; I truly believe it my obligation to do as little damage to our planet as possible, and to do my part to care for it at all times.
Cooking - My first 'real' job was as a pizza cook in an Italian restaurant! I later went on to do some Personal Chef work and bake pastries for espresso carts. I love to cook and currently enjoy doing so for my friends and family.
Fluent in Spanish - I am self-taught; my love for the language led me to learn it, and I am now able to converse with so many wonderful people!
My Philosophy:
I believe in creativity, love, honesty, heart, kindness, humor, gratitude, connection, passion and most of all, Spirit. My goal is to help you connect with your creative self, with what fills you most, what brings you passion, compassion, caring, connection. We all want to live a full and fulfilled happy life; sometimes we get a bit lost trying to get there, but we can get there. I believe in loving honesty and loving my neighbor, my family, my friends, and the person sitting next to me in the theater. I believe we all need a little help in this life, and I believe in answering that call to the best of my ability to do just that. I believe there are many stories to be told, and much enlightenment to be had, and the more aware we are, the better this planet will be and the more we leave for those who have yet to live and love.
Interests and Loves:
Film, Theater, Music, Art, Writing, reading, learning, gardening, cooking - I'm addicted to the Food Network, photography, walking, lifting weights, laughter, smiles, plants and being outside among them, great conversation, and most of all Family (most especially, but not limited to, my children and granddaughters), wonderful friends, and my ever so cute dog Gioia.
It is my hope that you take from this a better understanding of who I am, and what I bring as a Life Coach. Have more questions? Please contact me and I will be more than happy to answer what I can.
Blessings to you,
Angela
